Red Dot Award 2017: Best of the Best for Yamaha Revstar

Yamaha Revstar wins Red Dot Award 2017: Best of the Best (the top prize in this design competition)!!! It feels great that all the hard work I have put into this project at Yamaha Design Laboratory is now being rewarded.
Revstar gets so much love from the guitarists and now also recognition in the design world. I'm grateful that I had an opportunity to be a part of this success!

Yamaha REVSTAR is here!

Today Yamaha is launching the first completely new line of electric guitars in almost two decades. I'm honoured that my project was chosen to be realised from many concepts that were being developed at the same time in Japan (Yamaha Design Lab), UK (Forpeople) and USA (Yamaha Artist Custom Shop). It was a pleasure designing those sexy shapes while working with so many enthusiastic people from Yamaha Guitar Development, listening to the voice of many guitarists and industry specialists and developing and brushing up the design with Toshihide Suzuki, Guitars and Drums chief designer in Yamaha Design Laboratory (designer of the iconic THR amplifier series).
